Flower Mound, TX (August 9, 2009) – The Flower Mound office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage – Dallas/Fort Worth (CBDFW) will host a community blood drive and a computer recycling event on Tuesday, August 11, at 3514 Long Prairie Road (FM 2499) beginning at 10 am.
“We’re combining these two community service projects in one day in an effort to get maximum exposure for both. We encourage area residents to stop by and donate blood and to bring their old computer equipment for recycling,” says Melody Kruse, branch manager of the Flower Mound office.
“Both efforts are important. Donating blood can save lives and recycling computer equipment protects the planet and our environment for our children and grandchildren.”
The Carter vehicle will be in the front parking lot of the Flower Mound office from 10 am. to 3 pm.
“Carter Blood Care has assigned a Web site to our office allowing donors to sign up for the event and schedule a convenient time. Of course we won’t turn walk-ins away,” she adds.
With a goal of 30 donors, the blood drive will provide a significant amount of the life-saving element. “Anyone who has ever been in a life threatening situation and needed blood — either for themselves or for a loved one — knows how critical it is to have sufficient supplies of all blood types,” says Ms. Kruse.
Computer Crushers will have a parked vehicle in the office’s back parking lot from 10 am to 2 pm “This computer and electronics recycler takes old computer equipment for recycling at little or no cost,” says Ms. Kruse.
Due to hazardous materials disposal, computer monitors require a $10 fee. If the consumer wants to have the hard drive destroyed in their presence, there is a $5 fee. Otherwise, there is no charge. All other electronic equipment (do not include batteries) are accepted at no cost.
The Flower Mound office is located in the heart of the Golden Triangle of Dallas, Fort Worth and Denton in one of the fastest growing suburban communities in the southwest.
