Irving, TX, (July 19, 2009) – Sales professionals and staff with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage – Dallas/Fort Worth (CBDFW), striked it up for a good cause at the Plano Super Bowl. They and others in the community raised funds for various charities in North Texas at the second annual Coldwell Banker CARES Bowl-A-Thon Tournament.
“Our sincere appreciation to our players, sponsors and organizers for supporting CARES,” says Sue Meyer, President, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage – Dallas/Fort Worth. “Your commitment to raising funds for local charities makes you all champions. The event was memorable. It was a perfect way to make a difference in our communities and enjoying time together with peers, friends and family.”
Over 40 teams of four players signed-up from the 20 company offices. Players from all skill levels participated including kingpins and rookies. It did not matter because everyone had a good time amidst the lights, music, sounds of strikes, laughter and victory dances. The top office in donations was the Preston Campbell Regional office. Denise Ackerman, branch manager of the McKinney office, bowled the highest score in the women’s division. John Digiovanni, branch manager of the Plano office, bowled the highest score in the men’s division.
After the tournament, the winning teams were awarded with medals in two different divisions — one for highest score and most donations. The winning team included Pete Zapffe, Joe Hill, Sam Hitchcock, Anthony Hopkins from the company’s Lakewood/White Rock Lake office.
“When we first heard about the tournament we knew that we wanted to create a team,” says Mr. Zapffe. “We had a wonderful time knowing we were making a difference by bowling in this tournament.”
The team that raised the most donations consisted of Scott Kring, Ann Hardin, Andrew Hoodwin and Susan Petty from the Preston Campbell Regional office of CBDFW. They and other teams asked for pledges and donations from people and organizations in their communities.
The Most Spirited Team award was given to Lisa Deleon, Zach Sams, Tess Turner and Debbie Cunningham of the Flower Mound office.
The last contest of the tournament was “Last Realtor Standing”. The last agent standing was Jason Sorrells, sales associate in the McKinney office of CBDFW. He was given an award after the event.
“Helping others is an integral part of the culture of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage,” says Ms. Meyer. “Everyone really came together to have a good time at this wonderful event. We really couldn’t have done it without our teams and everyone who helped support our charity foundation.”
