Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage – Dallas/Fort Worth (CBDFW) held its much anticipated day-long program themed “Connect with Success” in Irving October 6. Keynote speakers were Bruce Zipf, president/CEO of NRT LLC, and Charles McMillan, president of the National Association of Realtors and Broker of Record for CBDFW. Mr. McMillan presented his insight on revitalizing the D/FW real estate market. Mr. Zipf highlighted business-building initiatives and pending legislation affecting the national housing market.
Sue Meyer, president of CBDFW, welcomed hundreds of attendees, noting, “We started our program with a patriotic theme to honor 9/11, Labor Day and Memorial Day and Veterans Day. We’re recognizing Coldwell Banker sales associates and our time-honored company traditions of customer service, integrity and endurance.”
She added, “J.D. Power & Associates’ 2009 Home Buyer/Seller Survey ranks us with the highest overall satisfaction for home sellers among national full-service real estate firms. Wall Street Journal subscribers ranked Coldwell Banker #1 among all measured Realtors as the company they would consider using for future real estate transactions. Texas is a third choice U.S. destination for nearly 10 percent of total international buyers to our country. We’re positioned not only very well by the nations we represent but by the placement of our offices throughout the metroplex.”
“Since we didn’t have a housing price run up during the 2005-2006 wave, our market is on a faster road to recovery,” Ms. Meyer said. “In the fourth consecutive month of gains in the D/FW price index, home prices rose 2.7 percent from May to June to the highest level since September 2008, according to Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller index. In August, the overall unemployment rate in the state fell below the national average of 9.7percent, with Texas at 8 percent.”
Meyer added, “Dallas ranks #1 in Forbes magazine as the nation’s top city for earning a living. Fort Worth and Arlington ranked #1 in Forbes as the least expensive places to live in the West South Central area. CNNMoney.com's list of the nation's top 25 best counties for job growth from 2000 to 2008 included Rockwall County at #2, leading Texas with 84.9 percent job growth for the eight-year period. In CNN’s Fortune and Money magazines’ report, The Top 100 Best Places to Live in America, our metroplex boasts two cities – Keller at #7 and Mansfield at #24.
A trade show and educational sessions throughout the day highlighted the event where sales associates learned and networked with their peers. Attendees eagerly awaited the drawing for the recent $24K Event Program. Dicksie McManus, sales associate at the Fort Worth - Tanglewood office of CBDFW, was the $24,000 winner of the listing contest.
